PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday announced that the ace grandmaster Bhakti Kulkarni will get a permanant job in the Government.
The announcement was made during the felicitation function of the Goan prodigy.
CM later took to social media to make the announcements, “Felicitated Goa’s Pride Grandmaster Bhakti Kulkarni in the presence of Sports Minister Govind Gaude and others.”
He said Bhakti has represented India at multiple International tournaments and made not just Goa but India proud in the game of Chess. She will be a role model for the youth of Goa not just in Chess but in all sports, he added.
“Happy to announce that the Govt of Goa will give Grandmaster Bhakti Kulkarni a permanent position in the Govt. Her experience shall definitely benefit the younger generations for the development of sports culture and nurture World Class Chess players from Goa,” he said.
He further said that Goan players getting medals for their country will get reserved job in SAG.
“We are currently working out reservation policy for sports persons; once freedom fighter reservation is done, sports personalities will get that space; first govt job under sports reservation will be given to Bhakti Kulkarni in SAG,” he said.
