
VASCO: Gomantak Bhandari Samaj, Central Executive Committee organized a special felicitation program at Pragati Sankul, Cricketer Shubham Naik community hall, Mapusa, to felicitate all the Bhandari community students who have passed with flying colours in std X, XII, Graduation, post-Graduation other vocational fields during the curricular year 2022-23 along with Eminent Bhandari Community persons who have excelled in various field and made the Bhandari Community and Nation Proud.
The most prominent was Gitanjali Nagvenkar, who made the nation proud by winning Gold Medal in 800mts. Running athletic event at 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Berlin and was felicitated with momentum and presented with a Cheque of Rs 1,00,000/- at the hands of Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism. Other personalities felicitated at the function were Sainath S. Uskaikar’s contribution to the cinema and films and Bharat Vithal Banaulikar’s contribution to art and music.
The felicitation function was held in Presence of President of Gomantak Bhandari Samaj, central Committee Ashok Naik, Union Minister Govt. of India Shripad Naik, Ex Ministers Dayanand Mandrekar, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Ex -MLA Dayanand Sopte, Vice president of the Samaj Devanand Naik, Treasurer Jogusso Naik, along with President of Gomantak Bhandari Samaj Yuva Samittee, Dikshak Naik, General Secretary Pankaj Jalmi, Mahila Samiti General Secretary Medha Parulekar and all the members of Central Committee.
Speaking on the Occasion, Former Minister Dayanand Mandrekar Stated that unity among all the Bhandari Samaj leaders and people is a need of the hours, as there are many issues pertaining to Bhandari Samaj which has to be resolved and can be solved only with the collective efforts of the Samaj.
Ex-MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar urged the students and young generation to garner wisdom and share it with others as the knowledge and wisdom increase by virtue of sharing. Union minister Shripad Naik also spoke and wished the best to all the students for their future. Ex-MLA Dayanand Sopte and others also expressed their views on the occasion.
Altogether, 312 students were felicitated during the program with a certificate, memento and cash. Chief executive Member Fakru Vaman Panjikar welcomed the guests; President of Gomantak Bhandari Samaj Ashok gave a brief description of the various events and works carried out by Gomantak Bhandari Samaj for the upliftment of the community. He congratulated the Central Yuva Samiti for carrying out various awareness programs, which included carrying out a plantation drive in all 12 talukas on the same day and having a trek at Mainapi waterfall, which included more than 500 participants from the Samaj.
The program started with the lighting of lamps by all the dignitaries present on the stage. The event was anchored by the Vice President of Gomantak Bhandari Samaj Yuva Samiti Reema Sonurlekar. The program was attended by a large number of people. Central Yuva Samiti General Secretary Pankaj Jalmi and President Dikshak Naik made special efforts to make the program successful.
