CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have arrested a Bihar native named Abhishek Ranjan Singh for allegedly raping a 23-year-old woman in the hotel staff room.
The 23-year-old Manipur lady who was the victim alleged to the police that Singh had forced her to have sex against her will.
Both the victim and the accused worked at the hotel where the event happened in the staff room.
The police promptly filed a case against Singh under Section 64 of the BNS in response to the complaint. After that, the defendant was taken to prison by the police while the investigation was carried out.
Local authorities have emphasized that the case has brought attention to the safety and security of workers in the hospitality sector.
