PERNEM: Mandrem Police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly organising a bull fight for betting purposes at Arambol.
The case was registered late on September 16 following a complaint by Shyam Fale, 28, a police constable attached to Mandrem Police Station.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred around 9 am on September 16 at an open area near a parking lot at Madhlawada, Arambol.
Police have named Vikas, 22, son of Shreebhagavan Mali and a resident near the Post Office, Agarwada, Pernem, and Chohote Lal, 37, son of Sadhu, a resident of Bhaman Bhatti, Madhlawada, Arambol, as the accused.
The two allegedly organised the bull fight for betting and personal financial gain without taking adequate care or precautions for the safety of the animals. The complaint states that the bulls were allegedly subjected to cruelty by being incited to fight.
Further investigation is in progress. PSI Jaydeep Palyekar of Mandrem Police Station is investigating the case.
