Canacona: With persistant demand from the locals, the Covid-19 vaccination centre has been shifted from the old hospital at Chaudi to Government Higher Secondary premises at Mastimoll from Tuesday.
Local MLA and deputy speaker Isidore Fernandes while speaking with
Goenkarponn informed that the Covid-19 vaccination program at the old hospital is shifted from Tuesday to the spacious Government Higher Secondary opposite police station at Mastimoll as the space was too less at the old hospital.
All the arrangements are in place, there is huge parking area and all who are arriving at the new centre can wait comfortably till the vaccination procedures are
over.
Fernandes further added that
as both Covid-19 testing and vaccination were being done close to each other in the old hospital there was demand from concerned locals to shift either of this.
Socky Da’ Silva a vocal local speaking with this correspondent said that the shifting of the vaccination was required as there was a fear of those coming to get vaccinated and those coming
to drop and pickup them getting infected as the testing room was too close.
“Now it’s very safe, also there are no residential houses nearby to the new vaccination centre” Da’ Silva opinionated.
