VASCO: Supreme Court of India has accepted the submitted report by its Central Empowered Committee (CEC) on the three linear projects.
“The report states that three linear projects are non-beneficial to the ecology of Goa, claimed Congress,” leader Viriato Fernandes.
In a thanksgiving video that went viral on social media platforms, Viriato Fernandes of the Congress party said the Supreme Court of India has accepted the report submitted by the Central Empowered Committee (CEC), which was formed by the Supreme Court in 2021.
The submitted report had some suggestions and observations related to the three linear projects, including the Tamnar Line project, Broadening of National Highway, and Doubling of Railway track.
Fernandes thanked the social groups, NGO and people who all stood together to fight against the three linear projects. He thanked Goa Foundation for fighting this issue in the court and other groups such as Goencho Ekvott, Goencho Avaaz, Goyant Kollso Naka, Save Mollem, and Chicalim Farmers Club etc. for opposing three linear projects.
