BICHOLIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said there are plans to set up a centralised command centre, in collaboration with Reliance, for collecting health data to facilitate better medical treatment for citizens.
“The government will appoint 60 new medical officers and provide 75 new ambulances to health centers across the state,” Rane stated, highlighting the unique measures the government has made to deliver high-quality healthcare to the general public, especially the poor. Furthermore, 15 different kinds of testing facilities will be installed at 212 sub-health centers.
He was addressing following the opening of a massive medical camp at the Bicholim Community Health Center, which the health department had organized in association with the Dental College and Hospital and the Goa Medical College.
“The operation rooms at the community health centers in Bicholim and Marcaim will soon be operational,” Rane stated.
“In recognition of their critical role in society, the government will provide health cards to all journalists in the state,” he declared.
Attending the event, Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye urged the minister to give more physicians, improved facilities for health examinations, and an operating room as soon as possible.
At the camp, a group of surgeons performed examinations on patients and gave them the required medical advice.
Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, dean of GMC, Dr. Rupa Naik, and others were also present at the event.
