MANDREM: Mandrem Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for alleged possession of narcotics during a raid conducted in Morjim on Friday evening.
According to police, the offence was registered at 17:47 hrs on April 18 based on a state complaint filed by PSI Kunal Naik of Mandrem Police Station. Acting on specific inputs, a raid was carried out between 2:40 pm and 5:00 pm near a ground at Kacholewada, Morjim.
During the operation, the accused, identified as Prem Chandra Mishra, originally from Nepal and currently residing at Warchawada, Morjim, was apprehended. Police said he was found in illegal possession of a blackish sticky substance suspected to be charas weighing approximately 488 grams, with an estimated market value of ₹4.88 lakh.
The contraband was seized under panchanama, and the accused has been taken into custody.
