PANAJI: Formula to allot beach shacks was altered today as per request of Shack operators’ after a meeting called by CM Pramod Sawant.
Now, 10 percent shacks will be allotted to new comers, 10 percent to those having experience from 1 yr to 4 years and remaining 80 percent to those having experience of above 5 years of running the beach shacks.
A meeting was called by CM to resolve the demands of Shack Operators.
As per the new shack policy 2023-2026, the allocation was 90 % for those with experience of one year and above of running a shack and 10 % was for newbies.
Opposing this allotment, shack operators had sought CM’s intervention.
Another meeting is scheduled tomorrow with CRZ authority to decide on the number of shacks, sewerage and other matters.
During a meeting convened by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to resolve the demands of the shack operators following approval of the new shack policy 2023-26.
It was decided to allot 10 percent shacks to new comers, 10 percent to those having experience from 1 year to 4 years and remaining 80 percent to those having experience of above five years of running the shacks.
It was also decided to reduce the security deposit from Rs two lakh to Rs one lakh for “A” category beach shacks and from Rs one lakh to Rs 50,000 for “B” category shacks.
