PONDA: The Lecture Basis Teachers (LBT) of various government schools met Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and voiced their grievances regarding regularisation in services and increased the salary to ₹ 25000 till their services are regularised.
Speaking to the media, the teachers said CM has assured LBT to provide ₹ 25,000 monthly salaries with job security, and a circular regarding the same will be issued within 10 to 15 days.
According to teachers, they met CM Dr Pramod Sawant at Ravindra Bhavan in Sankhali and narrated their struggle for survival due to the meagre salary they received on a lecture basis with Rs 150 per lecture for a long time.
They told CM the hardship that they have to go through while teaching the students.
In a discussion, teachers urged CM to provide them minimum pay of ₹ 25,000 per month, Leave facility including maternity leave, No termination of services. If surplus and transfer of permanent teachers happened, some alternative solution should be found.
“CM has assured them of fulfilling their demands within 10 to 15 days with circular and over that lecture basis teachers have expressed happiness. Teachers expressed that they are happy that CM has considered our ordeal and has given positive assurance to resolve our long-pending issue. “We hope for better teaching days in the future with the fulfilment of the CMs assurance”, said teachers.
