VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant opined that the Congress party is keeping the flavour of TMC in Goa, wherein post-election results, the BJP workers are being targeted.
“Such criminal activities won’t be tolerated in Goa and DGP preparing a game plan to nab the miscreants involved in the assault cases on Friday evening,” he said.
Goa Police have left no stone unturned in combing operation at Mormugao Headland Sada area to nab the miscreants behind the group fights on Headland Sada.
On Saturday morning, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant personally paid a visit to Sub-district hospital Chicalim to see the father of a Mormugao Municipal councillor who was reportedly beaten up by some persons at Bogda area. The person was admitted on Friday after he sustained some bodily injuries.
Speaking to the media, CM Sawant said that the flavour of TMC is being kept by the Congress party, and some incidents of assaults have taken place at Sada area wherein one person was badly beaten, and even the house was damaged by some people.
“Beating a worker of another party whose candidate has been defeated is a Congress parties way, and this was never seen in Goa before. Such criminal things won’t be tolerated at all in Goa,” said Sawant.
When questioned about what steps have been taken to curb this situation, CM Sawant said that DGP has especially come to Mormugao, who will come up with a strategy to bring down such crimes and nab all those who are behind these attacks. We won’t leave anyone who all are behind such things,” he added.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police Dr Indradev Shukla gave instructions to the Police in charge to give daily reports on the clubs, gambling dens and the list of history sheeters.
DGP further said that there was a fight between a few groups, which got escalated further. After this incident, the Police have now started combing operations in the Mormugao area to nab the miscreants.
Nine people have been arrested, and 50 more are likely to be nabbed. DGP urged the miscreants to surrender to the Police. Surprisingly, a pet dog from one family was also reportedly hit during this fight.
