PANAJI: Revenue Minister Atanasio “Babush’ Monserrate today said there will be a lot of changes in the functioning of the office of Collector, Dy Collector and Mamlatdar and that the departments will be made people-friendly.
Monserrate today took charge as the Minister for Revenue, Labour and Waste management at the Secretariate Complex.
“There will be a lot of changes in the functioning of the office of Collector, Dy Collector and Mamlatdar and the departments will be made people-friendly. After taking charge, these departments will be much more friendly,” said Babush.
He further that there will be restructuring due to which the matters will be disposed of within a time frame.
“All departments which have been allotted to me are people-oriented departments, and I will work for the people of Goa and my Panaji constituency,” he added.
Babush also said that he was very thankful to the Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant and the BJP for entrusting the portfolios to him.
He said that there were as many as 16,260 Mundkar cases pending across the State.
“This was not proper and that people should get their Mundkarial rights as per the Act. a special mechanism will be devised to expedite the pending Mundkar cases,” he added
Monserrate said there will be mamlatdars, who will exclusively hear Mundkar cases and settle them expeditiously.
