TALEIGAO: Goa University has warned teachers of action for failing to abide by the examination duties.
The University said that examination work is an integral part of teachers’ duty and that teachers’ declining to conduct examination work affects the smooth functioning of exams.
“It has been observed that, despite several Circulars issued from time to time, teachers are declining examination duties by citing various reasons, thereby making it difficult for the smooth functioning of the Examination Division of the University,” the circular states.
The university said that it had been laid down that examination work is an integral part of a teacher’s duty and that declining such important tasks shall be viewed seriously and shall also be punishable under the law.
“Deans/Principals of Affiliated Colleges/Institutions are therefore requested to inform all teachers in their respective Institutions to co-operate with the Examination Division of the University in the conduct of its examinations, Central Assessment and timely declaration of results,” it states.
Meanwhile, the University has said that initiate appropriate action under the provisions above in the event of failure on the part of the teacher to perform examination-related duties assigned to them.
