Mapusa: In a proactive move to bolster regional security, the Colvale police recently conducted a comprehensive operation in the areas spanning from Camurlim to Colvale.
Under the guidance of Police Inspector Vijay Rane, this initiative involved a dual-pronged approach: verifying tenant documents and inspecting scrap yards. The operation’s timing and location underscore the police’s commitment to ensuring legal compliance and enhancing safety in the region.
The tenant verification process in Camurlim revealed a mixed outcome. While 14 individuals were found to have proper documentation, 12 others lacked valid papers. This exercise highlights the importance of maintaining accurate records and adhering to legal requirements.
In addition to tenant verification, the police also inspected scrap yards along the route. The findings were significant, with 38 scrapyard owners found to be in violation of Section 152 BNSS. These cases have been forwarded to the Deputy Collector for further action. The drive is part of a broader strategy to maintain order and legality in the area.
