PANAJI: Manickam Tagore, the Goa Congress chief, claimed on Friday that the PWD recruitment is a massive scam and said his party will file a complaint with Lokayukta to have the issue looked into.
“The Pramod Sawant-led BJP government has become most corrupt,” Tagore said, holding a press conference at the local Congress office. They have tampered with the prospects of young (deserving) people. It’s a huge con. We have already filed a complaint and asked for an investigation into the situation with the Vigilance Department. We’re going to go up to Lokayukta.
The Congress leader stated that the issue was grave and promised to provide further information and proof in this case. We demand that those responsible for the job scam be held accountable.
Congress filed a complaint with the Vigilance Department last week, demanding an investigation into the alleged demands of Rs 30–40 lakh made to candidates seeking positions as Junior Engineers and Technical Assistants in the Public Works Department (PWD).
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee’s general secretary, Srinivas Khalap, has written to the Vigilance Department requesting action in this regard.
He stated that a full investigation should be conducted into the claims made about a former PWD minister’s involvement in a job recruitment scam.
