QUEPEM: Quepem block of Congress has filed a complaint with the taluka Mamlatdar against the illegal inclusion of names in electoral rolls and demanded an immediate inquiry.
Altone D’Costa said around 4,500 new names have been included in the election roll list of the Quepem constituency.
Quepem Mamlatdar Pratap Rao Gaokar said that last 4 days, around 1000 new names have been included after special heraing.
Congress aid in the inclusion of new names is an attempt for bogus voting.
Altone D’Costa, along with the Quepem block committee, submitted the memorandum and requested the Quepem mamlatdar to properly inquire about the illegal inclusion of the names.
Further, Altone D’Costa requested immediate measures to rectify the illegalities done in the newly revised election roll of the Quepem constituency.
He said that if necessary action was not taken, they would make the details public in a few days.
“We will also not hesitate to launch an agitation against the illegalities,” he said.
Mameldar of Quepem Pratap Gaokar said that the office received maximum name inclusion in form no six.
“The names are added after a proper inquiry process. We will look into the matter, and if any doubtful inclusion is seen, they will be discarded,” he said.
