MAPUSA: Controversial Builder Venkatesh Narayan Prabhu Moni has finally landed in Colvale Central Jail to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6 months as Session Court North Judge dismissed his appeal.
Moni and his M/s Prabhu Constructions duped Sahajanand Investments Private Limited for a sum of Rupees two crore fourteen lakhs.
Court Order Dated 4/2/2023 states that the appeal stands dismissed. Consequently, the impugned judgement of convicting the accused and sentencing them to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months and to pay compensation of Rs. 2,14,00,000/- (Rupees Two Crore Fourteen Lakhs only) to the complainant and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for the further period of six months is confirmed.
He was arrested and taken for a routine Medical checkup at North District Hospital, Mapusa, where he managed to stay for three days.
Thereafter complainant, who is 72 years old senior citizen, Rasiklal Gangani, met the Director of Health and urged for justice.
Further, Prabhu Moni’s health was examined, and he was taken to Central Jail Colvale soon after his discharge from the Hospital.
Rasiklal thanked the Director of Health, Press Media, for highlighting the issue and helping him to get justice.
He has also thanked Shivsena Goa Rajya Pramukh Jitesh Kamat for standing with him to seek justice.
There are a bunch of such cheque bouncing and criminal cases against Prabhu Moni. Canara Bank has attached his offices and Bungalow for non-payment of a loan amounting to Rupees 14 Cr.
He is the same builder who has been fined crores of Rupees by the RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) court for not completing, delays in possession and double sale of units at Prabhu Chambers building at Mapusa. His occupancy was revoked by Mapusa Municipal Council.
