SANKHALI: A case has been registered following an alleged assault and damage to a fruit stall at the Sanquelim New Fish Market on October 13.
According to the complaint lodged at 12.38 am on October 14 by a 36-year-old resident of Kajuwada, Vithalapur, Karapur, Sanquelim, the incident occurred at around 7.45 pm on October 13 over previous enmity.
The complainant alleged that accused Suresh Vithal Joshi, 27, a resident of Upper Harvalem, Sanquelim, assaulted Mirza Habeed Ali Baig with a wooden danda, causing bleeding injuries to his head. The accused allegedly damaged the fruit stall, resulting in an estimated loss of ₹20,000.
The complaint further alleges that Suresh and the second accused, Babu Vithal Joshi, 34, assaulted the complainant with fist blows to his face and body, acting with common intention.
When the complainant’s wife intervened, Suresh allegedly abused her in filthy language with the intention of insulting her modesty.
The investigation is in progress under PSI Krishna Gawas.
