VASCO: The cruise tourism season in Goa began on Friday with the arrival of Domestic Cruise Cordelia Empress
The First cruise ship of the tourism season brought in 785 passengers and 360 crew members.
MPT Chairman Venkata Ramana Akkaraju speaking to reporters, said that 52 ships were lined up for the season, which will bring a lot of business to local people. Akkaraju also added that works on an international cruise terminal and a top-class fishing harbour are in progress.
Meanwhile, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar inaugurated the new Murgaoncha Raja tourist taxi union counter on the cruise berth.
Amonkar speaking to the media, said that the counter is open to accommodate all taxis from Mormugao, Vasco and Dabolim, and the union will operate as a social cause without charging taxi operators.
