VARCA: A decomposed body of an unidentified man was found inside an abandoned house at Chadwadi, Varca, prompting Colva Police to initiate an investigation.
According to police, information was received on June 27 at around 3.48 pm from Wendell Furtado, a resident of Varca, reporting that the body of an unknown man, estimated to be between 45 and 50 years of age, was lying inside the abandoned house and that a foul smell was emanating from the premises.
Police visited the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. The deceased is suspected to be a migrant labourer who was known to frequent the abandoned house.
An unnatural death (UD) case has been registered. Police conducted the scene-of-occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama before shifting the body to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, where it has been preserved for post-mortem and other medico-legal formalities.
