PONDA: Mithil Dhavlikar, son of Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, is clearly seen shouldering the father’s responsibility at Marcaim Constituency, replying to his father’s critics, saying all pending development work would be complete by March next year.
It may be recalled since the past week Power Minister’s political rivals are launched an attack, alleging he failed to undertake development work, and it was expected he would reply on the issue.
With a confident reply coming from Mithil, people now suspect he may contest the next assembly election from Marcaim, and his father may contest any other seat in Ponda Taluka.
Premanand Gaude, who had contested assembly ticket on Revolutionary Goans (RG) ticket launched a scathing attack on Power Minister alleging he failed to conduct development work at Marcaim for past twenty years including improvement in health facilities at Marcaim PHC, improvement of roads, failing to
provide 80 per cent jobs in industries at Marcaim and Kundaim etc., which fall under Marcaim constituencies etc.
On the other hand, some Kundaim locals also opposed to NOC Karnataka-based Chitrapur Mutt construction, stating that Kundaim Panchayat is under political pressure to issue occupancy at Kundaim Plateau and that it is not beneficial to locals.
Mithril Dhavlikar, along with five Sarpanchas of various Panchayats in the Marcaim constituency, briefing to media, rejected the allegations as baseless and said due to covid pandemic, the development works were delayed, but now it will take speed after the rainy season.
All roads would be hot mixed by March. The tenders for underground cabling and roads dug for sewerage would also be undertaken, and that tenders are floated for it. A wet garbage treatment plant is also launched at Kavlem.
He justified Karnataka’s mutt construction, stating it’s a religious mutt.
