Min Vishwajit Rane assures to complete tendering process at the earliest

PORVORIM: urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday informed the House that tender towards SOPO collection of Retail Fish Market at Margao is not yet floated.
Minister Rane was replying to the question tabled by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat wherein he had asked for details when the said work was tendered with all relevant details.
“Tender towards SOPO collection of Retail Fish Market at Margao is not floated. I assure to complete tendering process,” Rane Informed the House.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said that the SOPO tender was won by a local Gunda and a bunch of bouncers.
“The market should be demolished and taken away from the Fatorda constituency,” said Vijai.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai demanded that the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) immediately float tenders for sopo (market tax) collection of the authority’s markets in Margao with a view to shore up its revenue.
Sardesai had also alleged that the SGPDA was shielding irregularities committed by the current contractor owing to vested interests.
