HARVALEM: While stating that Goans should not fall prey to fake government job scams, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the government will probe the Pooja Naik case and also identify associates.
“I don’t understand why people pay Pooja Naik or anybody to obtain govt jobs; no govt job can be obtained by paying money,” said Sawant.
He further said that the state government’s job recruitment process is transparent and strict action will be taken against such elements.
Sawant also said that the Goa government is in the process of drafting rules to take over no man’s land as recommended by the One Man Commission
He also cautioned government job seekers against falling prey to the guile of fake agents, who promise government employment, adding that his government was investigating such cases of fraud.
“The government is offering even general (category) jobs clear cut on merit basis,” he added.
“There are people who are trying to snare people looking for jobs. I have heard about such things happening with these (compassionate grounds) vacancies too. The jobs will be given according to seniority list,” Sawant said
Mardol police had arrested Pooja Naik for allegedly duping the people under the pretext of providing them with government jobs.
As per information, accused lady Shravani alias Pooja Naik alias Rupa Palkar, a resident of Old Goa being an employee at the Secretariat office Porvorim Goa induced the complainant to pay an amount of Rs.7,00,000/- towards giving his son a job as a LDC in Transport Department.
