PANAJI: Drug dealers engaged in the illicit trade will be under police scrutiny as Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar has directed senior police officers to strictly enforce the state’s drug laws.
Sources claim that police priority will be given to peddlers who have previously been detained in a variety of drug-related incidents, particularly those involving substantial seizures or high-value narcotics like chemical substances. The peddlers will reportedly be under constant observation and may face arrest if necessary, according to sources.
The matter concerning the claims that specific First Information Reports (FIRs) were not registered has been brought to the attention of Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar.
According to sources, Kumar gave police personnel directions about the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) at the Tuesday crime review meeting.
According to sources, Kumar learned about the purported lack of FIR registration as well as the problem with the purported requirement for “influence” in order to register a FIR.
Kumar instructed that complaints should not be ignored for an extended period of time. According to reports, he also gave the order that FIRs be filed upon the completion of all required procedures, including preliminary inquiries.
