BICHOLIM: A major mishap was averted after an allegedly drunk driver nearly rammed into the convoy of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at Amona on Friday.
According to preliminary information, the vehicle came dangerously close to the Chief Minister’s convoy, but the escort and convoy personnel managed to evade it, preventing any untoward incident.
Following the incident, Bicholim Police detained and arrested four persons in connection with the case. The driver is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
