HYDERABAD/GOA: A suspected interstate drug trail involving Goa, Mumbai and Hyderabad has come under investigation following the arrest of a 29-year-old man near Miyapur Metro Station with 14 ecstasy pills.
The accused, Pola Suresh Gopi, was apprehended by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) along with Miyapur police. Officers recovered 14 pills containing MDMA, weighing approximately nine grams, besides two mobile phones.
Police said Gopi, originally from Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district and presently living in Hyderabad, had moved to Goa in July 2024, where he started working in the rental-property sector.
Investigators allege that while staying in Goa, Gopi established contacts with individuals involved in the narcotics trade. He subsequently began sourcing drugs for acquaintances and allegedly reselling them for profit.
The probe has so far led police to two alleged suppliers — a person identified as Baba, reportedly based in Goa, and Danish Alam Ansari from Mumbai. Both are currently wanted by investigators.
According to police, Gopi initially obtained drugs from Baba through cash payments in Goa. He later allegedly began dealing with Ansari, who reportedly travelled to Goa to supply narcotics.
Investigators said the latest transaction began after two of Gopi’s acquaintances in Hyderabad allegedly approached him for ecstasy pills. Gopi reportedly travelled to Mumbai on September 16, where he allegedly purchased 29 pills from Ansari for ₹22,500, with the payment made through a bank transfer.
Police said Gopi subsequently sold 15 of the pills in Mumbai to a person known as ‘Munna’, who is reportedly from Goa. He allegedly kept the remaining 14 pills and travelled to Hyderabad by private bus from Nerul.
The journey ended near Miyapur Metro Station, where EAGLE personnel and Miyapur police intercepted him following information about the suspected drug movement.
