BARDEZ: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has carried out searches at multiple locations in Bardez, including the residence of former Socorro Sarpanch Sandeep Vazarkar, in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation linked to land grabbing cases.
According to sources, the raids were aimed at collecting evidence regarding suspicious financial transactions and assets believed to have been acquired through illegal means.
The ED is currently investigating several complaints alleging that prime land in the region was unlawfully acquired and subsequently used in money laundering schemes involving shell companies and benami transactions.
Officials said further details regarding the documents and materials seized during the searches will be shared as the investigation progresses.
