PANAJI: An 81-year-old resident of Panaji has filed a complaint alleging assault and criminal intimidation following a dispute in Ucassaim, Bardez.
According to the complaint lodged on April 21, 2026, Antonio Jose Joaquim De Souza, a resident of Trionora Apartments near Panaji Market, stated that the incident occurred earlier on April 4 between 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm at Punola, Ucassaim.
The accused, identified as Valmon Valerian Barretto and Ms Pearl Nadia Azavedo, both residents of Ucassaim, allegedly acted with common intention stemming from a personal dispute. When the complainant visited their residence, the duo allegedly abused him in filthy language and assaulted him using fists, kicks, and a bamboo stick, causing injuries.
The complaint further states that the accused allegedly threatened the elderly man with dire consequences, including death threats.
Police have registered the case and initiated further investigation. Head Constable Vijay Gadekar is the investigating officer.
