PANAJI: Today, the Chief Minister distributed ex-gratia to the beneficiaries of Covid-19 virus victims and distributed financial Assistance forms for Unorganized Sector affected due to Lockdown.
The function orgànized by the Directorate of Social Welfares in the city. The Government distributed ex-gratia benefits to 57 beneficiaries on occasion and issued forms of financial assistance at the hands of the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said, “I don’t claim that I have done so much, but Goa is the only StateState who strived to extend financial assistance of two lakh to victims to become the first StateState in the country. Covid is not yet over. We have to take precautions. A pandemic like a coronavirus occurs after hundred years, he added.
The Chief Minister said it is disheartening that many people have lost their lives due to the current pandemic. Many of them lost two or three family members. Due to losing earning members, many families are suffering. Here the Government initiated a step to help these people. He informed that beneficiaries who have completed their procedure received benefits, and others will benefit soon.
The Government, through Swayam Mitras, will endeavour to help everyone to avail the benefit of various schemes. Around eighty traditional occupants are also included under this scheme, he informed.
Secretary Social Welfare Shri Y. V. V. J. Rajshekhar, IAS, in his address, said that many people in the StateState have suffered severely due to the Covid pandemic situation. The Government has strived to provide relief to these people by implementing an ex-gratia scheme to as many as people. Those who received the sanction orders will get their money transferred today itself, he added.
Raj Bhavan to host a reception on August 15
PANAJI: The Raj Bhavan Goa will host “At Home Reception” on the campus on the occasion of Independence Day in the evening on August 15, 2021 like every year. This occasion allows the Governor to meet and interact with important people of Goa and exchange greetings.
This year due to the prevailing Covid situation in the country and the need to take precautionary measures, such as social distancing, avoiding of large gatherings and protecting vulnerable groups, Raj Bhavan, Goa has decided to scale down the evening get–together to a small number of guests of around 50 officials in the Durbar Hall. Consequently, Raj Bhavan, Goa regrets that it will not be possible to invite all the people who usually attended ‘Át Home Reception’. Raj Bhavan looks forward to returning normalcy and hosting the next function in the usual grand manner, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
DRDA to launch marketing website
PANAJI: The District Rural Agency (DRDA), North Goa, will launch its marketing website on August 15, 2021, at 3.30 p.m. at the auspicious hands of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant. The website will be operated by the Department of Rural Development through GSRLM State Mission Manager.
This website will provide the platform for 38,500 Self Help Group (SHG) members to showcase their products and connect them with sellers from all over Goa, particularly India in General. The buyer will contact the concerned SHG members for the delivery and payment. Hence, the website will not have any payment gateway or cash transactions through the Department.
The vision of the Department through this website and other likewise activities is to improve the income of the SHG women to at least Rs. 10,000/- per month for each member connected with this mission. A maximum amount of Rs. 40,000/- is being released under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Schemes (PMFME) to each beneficiary. In May 2021, a total amount of Rs. 27.50 lakhs was disbursed under PMFME to 103 beneficiaries, as informed by Information and Publicity Department.
HC to function from new premises from Aug 17
PANAJI: The High Court of Bombay at Goa will commence functioning from the new High Court Complex at Penha de Franca, Porvorim Goa, from August 17, 2021.
The physical court hearing will start on August 17, 2021, as the Information and Publicity Department informed.
