PANAJI: The Panaji Police have registered an FIR against an Odisha native for allegedly kidnapping a minor from Bhatlem.
According to the police, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint stating that the accused, identified as Kamu Jana, abducted her 15-year-old daughter from her lawful guardianship and kept her at an undisclosed location.
An offence has been registered under Section 137(2) of the BNS Act and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
The case is being investigated by PSI Rashmika Kavlekar of the Panaji Police Station.
Meanwhile the Porvorim Police have booked an unidentified accused for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl from Bardez.
According to the police, a woman reported that her 16-year-old daughter was abducted in July 2024 from her lawful guardianship.
The victim is described as being able to speak Konkani, English, Hindi, and Marathi.
An offence has been registered under Section 137 of the BNS Act 2023 and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
