DABOLIM: In a significant drive to ensure road safety, the Dabolim Airport Traffic Police Cell registered five cases of drunk driving near the airport on Friday Evening. The accused drivers were allegedly found operating their vehicles under the influence of alcohol, posing a serious risk to themselves and others.
The operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Police Inspector Rahul Damshekar. Authorities confirmed that the offenders were stopped and subjected to alcohol tests, following which cases were filed against them.
Inspector Damshekar emphasized the importance of such measures, stating, “Drunk driving endangers lives, and we remain committed to ensuring the safety of commuters and pedestrians. Strict actions will continue to be taken against violators.”
“The crackdown is a strong reminder to drivers to adhere to traffic laws and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol. We have also urged the public to report any instances of reckless driving to ensure safer roads for everyone.” Added Damshekar
