SANVORDEM: Former Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) candidate from Sanvordem, Vipin Naik, has resigned from the party and made public documents relating to a show-cause notice issued to him by the party leadership.
According to the notice, the RGP had accused Naik of independently taking up local issues, interacting with the media without prior approval from the party, and violating its social media policy. The notice sought an explanation from him and warned of possible disciplinary action.
In a detailed reply released by Naik, he denied all allegations and maintained that he had kept local party leaders informed about the issues he was pursuing. He stated that he had consistently identified himself as an RGP member while engaging with the public and media.
Naik further contended that no written standard operating procedures (SOPs) or social media guidelines had been provided to party workers. He said his actions were intended to promote transparency and safeguard public interests rather than undermine the party.
The former candidate also claimed that he had cooperated fully with the party leadership, shared relevant information with senior leaders and was prepared to provide supporting evidence for his assertions. He alleged that despite submitting his explanation in 2025, he did not receive any response from the party regarding the matter.
Following these developments, Naik tendered his resignation from the Revolutionary Goans Party.
His departure comes amid ongoing discussions surrounding internal functioning, discipline and leadership within the RGP.
