PANAJI: In a sharp critique of the prevailing governance culture, Rohidas Raghunath Dessai, President of the Freedom Fighters Association, has expressed deep concern over bureaucratic apathy and called for greater accountability and discipline among government officers and Ministers.
“Law and order are not in place. There should be discipline among the government officers and Ministers. They must cooperate with the people and assist them to make things easier whenever they visit for any work,” Dessai said, voicing the frustrations of many citizens struggling with red tape and indifferent public service.
In a pointed message to his fellow freedom fighters, Dessai emphasized the need for selflessness and moral clarity. “Freedom fighters should think of others, give up opportunities for those in need, and not be driven by greed,” he stated.
His comments come at a time when public trust in governance is under strain, and concerns are mounting over the erosion of ethical standards in both political and civic spaces. By urging both officials and veterans to lead with humility and service, Dessai called for a course correction in the values that define public life.
