MARGAO: Gandhi Market vendors in Margao staged a protest on the streets against unsanctioned sales occurring beyond the market’s defined boundaries.
The purpose of the protest, which was held close to the Margao Municipality, was to raise awareness of the problem and represent market vendors’ concerns.
The demonstration brought attention to the difficulties faced by dealers as a result of unlicensed sales taking place outside of designated market areas.
Babu Azgoankar along with 500 vendors also took out a protest march and said that Karnataka vendors should not be allowed to sell Tambdi bhaji.
“There are many illegal vendors on communidade properties and also at other places in Margao, is MMC taking SOPO charges,” question Azgoankar
The traders also pressurised the government to act quickly to stop these illegal activities, which have an adverse effect on the market’s business climate and encourage unfair competition.
Gandhi Market vendors’ determination to safeguard their livelihoods and respect the regulations guiding market operations is demonstrated by their demonstration.
In order to uphold the integrity of the designated market area and enforce regulations, the traders are requesting that the municipal authorities implement effective measures.
