CANACONA – With the monsoons bringing alive two heavily visited waterfalls in the village, the Gaondongrim panchayat administrator sought the help of the Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) to curb the public nuisances committed by visitors(Tourists) to these waterfalls.
Gaondongrim Panchayat Administrator Pradeep Pagui wrote a letter to Dy Collector & SDM of Canacona to depute police and take action against the Youths and others who, while visiting the two water bodies in the village at ‘Bamonbudo waterfall’ and Gunji-Tali commits vulgarities and traffic obstruction in the areas.
Pagui wrote that every Saturday and Sunday, many youths from Goa and Karnataka come to enjoy the two water bodies (Bamonbudo waterfall and Gunji-Tali) located at Bhupar and Bharsa as Tourists, and most of these youths come with Sound systems and alcoholic beverages. Pagui further complained that these youths, after consuming alcohol, play loud music, dance naked in the water and on the road, park their vehicles on the street, break bottles, and talk vulgar words, constantly irritating the local residents.
Villagers, especially women and elders passing on the road, are disturbed and harassed by these picnickers, causing lots of discontent amongst the village folks.
The Gaondongrim panchayat Administrator sought action against the unruly youths by deputing police personnel and avoiding future vulgarities and traffic obstructions.
