PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today has alleged a job scam in recruiting LDC posts in Goa Medical College (GMC).
AAP has also alleged that 85 per cent of LDC posts have been awarded to citizens of the Valpoi constituency.
“Today, we have documents to prove that there is a job scam in the recruitment process of LDC posts at GMC. Documents show that 85 per cent of jobs have been given to Valpoi constituency,” alleged Adv Amit Palekar.
He further questions whether people from other constituencies are not qualified for these jobs.
“We will file a complaint with the vigilance department tomorrow through proper channel and take this issue to a logical conclusion,” he said.
Palekar also said that Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate, St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes, and St Andre MLA Francisco Silveria today called on Dean of GMC Dr Bandekar following a media report that 85% of candidates are candidates selected for LDC post in GMC are from Valpoi and Poriem constituencies.
“Tiswadi Constituency MLAs too are involved in this as they are now demanding that they too be given such jobs for their respective constituencies,” Palekar alleged.
Speaking further, Palekar said that 95 per cent of GMC and IPHB are from these two respective constituencies.
“It looks as if the talent has no value in Goa,” he said.
A leaked government document indicated that nearly 85 per cent of candidates ‘selected’ for regular posts of Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) in the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) hail from Sattari’s Poriem and Valpoi constituencies.
The documents show recruitment panel of the GMC has finalised the list of ‘selected candidates’ for 105 regular posts of LDC. Interestingly, from this list of 105 ‘selected’ candidates, as many as 85 hail from Poriem and Valpoi assembly constituencies.
