VASCO: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant handed over an ex gratia assistance of ₹4 lakh to the family of a man who lost his life in the landslide at Sada Junction–Harbour Road, Mormugao, on May 18, 2026.
The financial assistance was sanctioned under the Natural Calamity Relief norms through the State Disaster Response Fund (South).
The deceased, Manoranjan Minj, died in the landslide that occurred at Sada Junction–Harbour Road in Vasco.
The ex gratia sanction order was received by Pradeep Minj, brother of the deceased, who was authorised by the legal heirs to collect the assistance on behalf of the family.
The Chief Minister said the assistance was extended as a gesture of support and solidarity with the bereaved family. The government reiterated its commitment to providing timely relief and financial assistance to families affected by natural calamities under the prescribed norms.
