VASCO: In a strategic move ahead of a public meeting in Baina, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, accompanied by candidate Pallavi Dempo, met with former urban development minister Milind Naik and seven municipal councillors. The meeting aimed to garner support and maximize backing from the Mormugao constituency.
Addressing speculation surrounding Naik’s allegiance following MLA Sankalp Amonkar’s recent BJP affiliation, CM Sawant emphasized the importance of solidarity within the party. Sawant’s visit to Mormugao and Vasco constituencies saw the BJP’s concerted efforts to secure a favourable outcome in the upcoming elections.
Expressing his commitment to the BJP, Milind Naik reaffirmed his loyalty, citing a longstanding association spanning 15 years representing the Mormugao constituency. Despite facing defeat in the last assembly elections, Naik emphasized his unwavering support for the BJP and its vision under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Naik dispelled any doubts regarding his political alignment, stressing the unity among leaders and party workers in the Mormugao constituency. He reiterated the collective goal of ensuring the BJP’s stronghold in the region, emphasizing the imperative of a BJP-led government at the centre.
CM Sawant reiterated the party’s dedication to securing a significant voter turnout, with efforts aimed at achieving an 80-20 split in favour of the BJP.
The meeting between CM Sawant, Pallavi Dempo, and Milind Naik signalled a concerted effort to consolidate support and strengthen the BJP’s position in the Mormugao constituency. With the public meeting in Baina serving as a pivotal platform, the BJP aims to rally constituents and reinforce its electoral prospects in the region.
