Asks mandal to start preparations, calls for major vote share from Canacona to win back South-Goa Seat for BJP

CANACONA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant visited Canacona late Sunday evening, did a photo op on Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road (MPCBR) and asked BJP to prepare from now itself for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Interestingly, the Chief Minister’s visit to Canacona in the late evening, particularly in the absence of Canacona MLA and GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, raised a few eyebrows. (Tawadkar is reportedly on tour to Maharashtra).
However, Chief Minister put the growing suspicion to rest, stating his visit is part of Seva Sushashan, which is taken upon completion of 9 years of PM Modi’s completions for 1 month, before asking the karyakarta’s/cadres and start preparing for the 2024 Lok sabha polls now itself.
‘We should win the South Goa seat hands down, and Canacona should lead by giving the largest share of votes to BJP in the 2024 Loksabha elections. Start preparing now, and don’t wait for the last moments; Canacona should lead the BJP to win by giving the maximum lead to strengthening our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hands. Tawadkar’s a known close aide.
Vishant Gaonkar, who completed and proposed a vote of thanks, however, assured the Chief minister to click the South Goa seat, with a massive lead in with the help of Canacona Mandal and MLA Tawadkar.
Incidentally, Chief Minister reportedly posed for photos at two spots, first at the starting point of MPCBR at Char-rasta and later at Maxem at the picturesque site on MPCBR and spoke to the Mandal members.
BJP is likely to highlight the major developmental works completed in various parts of the Country, including the Manohar International Airport and Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road. Dr Sawant later informed his visit is part of Seva Sushasan visits to various constituencies on the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 9 years in Office.
Accompanying the CM, Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar, Ex- CMC Chairperson and Councillor Simon Rebello, Canacona BJP Mandal President Vishal Desai, Secretary Divakar Pagui, Mahila Mandal President Bharati Bandodkar.
Meanwhile, on the way to Canacona, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant also visited Railways Container Logistics at Balli to understand its functioning details.
Mentioning his visit to the railway’s Container Service at Balli railway junction, CM Sawant informed BJP Karyakarta that many a time, people do not know what happens in their neighbourhood, “The containers that are going to National and International for imports and exports, a project of Konkan Railways is located at Balli, and I have visited the same today. I learnt that containers, especially exporting fish, and medicines that are sent to Indonesia, Japan and many other countries, go from here and similarly, containers carrying imports of various items from all over the world arrive here. KRC commenced this Container Logistics at Balli in 2018, and this will grow to be a major logistic centre in Goa between Manohar International Airport and Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road (MPCBR),” he said.
