PORVORIM: Two officials of the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) have been accused of allegedly using criminal force, threats and intimidation to obstruct a chartered accountant while he was carrying out an audit at the GCA office in Porvorim.
According to the complaint lodged on August 31, 2026, by a chartered accountant residing in Fatorda, Margao, he had been appointed as an auditor by the Registration Department, Government of Goa, to conduct an audit of the Goa Cricket Association.
The complainant alleged that on August 26, 2026, while he was carrying out the audit of GCA records at its Porvorim office, GCA Secretary Tulsidas Shetye and GCA official Harish Shinde allegedly acted with a common intention and used criminal force to compel him to sign a document.
The two accused allegedly wrongfully restrained, abused and threatened the complainant while he was engaged in his lawful professional duty. They are also accused of obstructing him from carrying out the audit.
Police have registered a case in connection with the allegations. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Arun Shirodkar.
