SANGOLDA: Saligao police have registered a theft case against a domestic servant for allegedly stealing gold jewellery worth approximately Rs 1.20 crore from a residence at Sangolda in Bardez taluka.
According to the complaint lodged by Andrel D’Souza, a resident of Casa Antao, Alto Bella Vista, Sangolda, the alleged theft took place between August 23 and August 26, 2026.
The complainant alleged that the accused, identified as Hira Lamani, who was employed as a servant at her residence, committed theft of gold jewellery belonging to her and her mother.
The value of the stolen jewellery has been estimated at approximately Rs 1.20 crore.
The offence was registered by Saligao police on October 28 at 9.59 pm based on the complaint.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Dishan Naik of Saligao police station.
