MARGAO: Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai said he is fighting for facilities at South Goa District Hospital not only for the people of Fatorda but for entire South Goa.
“I am in process of moving to High Court over SGDH,” said GFP President Vijai Sardesai.
He said the High Court has observed that the State govenment has ignored the Health sector.
“The court has taken cognizance and has started hearings in that matter. I want to now go to the court with intervention petition saying the premiere South Goa Hospital is neglected by the government,” said Sardesai.
He said he would also appeal to the High Court to call health Minister Vishwajit Rane and the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to the High Court to answer queries.
“If feel this is a conspiracy to kill the people of South Goa. I am surprised that there is no unity on this issue. This is a very good issue for entire ddistrict of South Goa,” he said.
Vijai also pointed out that the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) only exist for namesake.
“ICU has been shutdown. There is no trauma unit. Anybody who meets with an accident in Canacona is sent here and then to GMC for treatment. Common man is unsafe in this district as the government has neglected this hospital with the conspiracy so that it is allotted to a private party,” he said.
He said the people of South Goa are very alert but it is surprising that the Salcete politicians are chilled out and have lost touch with reality.
“These are public issues which help you to get reelected but this is ignored may be our politicians are too much into politics,” he said.
Sardesai said that most of Salcete MLAs are first timers and to get elected they have to take such issues.
“…but sadly there is no unity and that is the reason I am going to the court,” he said.
He said the High COurt has to look into the intentions of Rane and the Chief mInister.
“HC has to know what is the actual intent of the HM & CM,” he said.
