PANAJI: Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar informed that Goa generated 69.34 Mus power through Solar energy during 2023-24.
“The quantum of power generation in Goa through Solar Energy during the FY 2023-24 is 69.34 MUs and during FY 2024-25 (upto May 2024 is 13.70 Mus),” said Dhavalikar
He further said that in order to further encourage all categories of consumers to install Solar rooftops, the State Government has notified the “Revised Scheme for Promotion of Grid Connected Solar Rooftop System with Net, Group Net & Virtual Net Metering FY 2023-2026”
“The State Government has also initiated installation of Decentralized Renewable Energy Power Plant (REPP) of capacity 500 kW to 2 MW under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan PM KUSUM (A). Such REPP is being setup by individual farmers/group of farmers/ cooperatives/. Under PM KUSUM (B), 200 Nos. of Solar Agriculture pumps are also being provided to the farmers,” minister said
Sudin said that the State Government has also encouraged installation of Solar rooftops under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana launched in February 2024 wherein Central Financial Assistance is provided to residential consumers for installations of Solar rooftops upto 3 KW and for Group Housing Societies upto 500 KW.
“Till end of June, 2024, the total installed Solar capacity in the State is 61 MW.”
