PANAJI: The Department of Home (General), Government of Goa, has prohibited strikes in any form in all establishments engaged in the manufacturing, packaging, distribution and transportation of pharmaceutical products and their components across the state.
The prohibition has been issued under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1988, declaring such services as essential and banning any strike activity in the pharmaceutical sector.
According to the order, the prohibition will come into force with effect from June 17, 2026, and will remain valid for a period of six months.
The order applies to all establishments involved in the manufacturing, packaging, distribution and transportation of pharmaceutical products and components thereof in Goa, with the objective of ensuring the uninterrupted supply of medicines and related products.
