PANAJI: Office Of The Registrar Of Cooperative Societies has notified the extension of Concession for Co-operative Housing Societies towards processing fees issued by the Under Secretary Law (Estt), Law Department and Under Secretary (Revenue-I) for a further period of 90 days w.e.f August 1, 2023.
The Government while extending the scheme for a period of 90 days has further simplified the scheme wherein the reckoning of the registration fee / stamp duty chargeable on instruments of conveyance such as a Deed of Conveyance or Deed of Sale or Deed of Transfer shall be done, and such instruments shall be registered, by the sub-registrar on the basis of the Valuation Report of the property prepared by any Government approved valuer and such Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding without insisting for production of such Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding registered before the sub-registrar.
It may be informed that the Government vide Notification dated 26/04/2023 had provided special concession for stamp duty and registration fees, wherein the special rates provided were just 1% each of stamp duty and registration fees and these special concession in rate of stamp duty and registration fees was available only if the deed of sale/ conveyance is registered with the concerned Sub-registrar’s office within period of three months commencing from 01/05/2023.
