PANAJI: In an effort to promote Goa as ‘Dakshin Kashi’ State government today signed an MOU with Temple Connect, an organisation dedicated to Revival & Development of the Temple Ecosystem, with an aim to boost Goa’s spiritual tourism.
Director of Department of Tourism Sunil Anchipaka and founder of Temple Connect Girish Kulkarni signed the MOU, in presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and Tourism Secretary Sanjeev Ahuja today.
With this MOU state’s Spiritual Tourism will take off in a Big Way, dedicated to Revival & Development of the Temple Ecosystem. This MOU will enhance the Tourism Potential by linking our Temples to a Global Circuit giving Worldwide Exposure to the Spiritual & Cultural Heritage of Goa said Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte after signing of the MOU.
This MOU aims to empower the Temple Ecosystem and to promote the wealth of Goa which is known as Bhagwan Parshuram Bhoomi to the world. This MOU is first of its kind which will help in digitization, documentation and distribution of content regarding Temple Awareness, its heritage and Goa’s culture.
The MOU will enable better connectivity and reach to visit the temples in Goa with Spiritual Tourism as the key focus along with a vision to promote devotional importance of Goa.
Temple Connect is one of the most well reached network of temples working in the spiritual ecosystem for nearly two decades and has close alliance with the temple in India and 57 other world locations.
The MOU will help to promote temples in the state further to help better pilgrim experience and increase the quality of convenience based tourism.
MOU in collaboration with the temples will help to create greater awareness of Temple Tourism Circuits in Goa, aligning with the National Spiritual Corridor. The vision is “Revive, Reconnect, Reach” which will connect with temples to their followers allowing culture, rituals, festivities, and the essence of local beliefs to be seamlessly disseminated.
It will offer specialised training programs and workshops for temple priests, guides, and other relevant personnel, with a focus on enhancing hospitality, communication skills, and heritage conservation.
This MOU will help in coordinating endeavours to highlight the profound spiritual and cultural heritage of temples in Goa, leveraging diverse marketing channels and platforms to attract a broader audience and promote responsible tourism.
