PANAJI: In connection with an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) into alleged illegal iron ore mining in the State, the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) Panaji zonal office has announced that it has seized 1.2 lakh square meters of immovable properties in Churiemolla that belonged to M/s Magnum Minerals Private Limited.
The two properties, which are 68,500 square meters and 51,500 square meters, are located in Churiemolla’s Survey No. 138/0.
In May 2023, the ED temporarily attached the properties, and in October 2023, the Adjudicating Authority confirmed this.
Up till additional directives from the Enforcement Directorate’s Panaji zonal office, the aforementioned properties may not be transferred or charged in any way, including by sale, gift, mortgage, pledge, or other means.
