SATTARI: Poriem MLA Dr Deviya Rane flagged off the Goa Monsoon Trekking Expedition 2026, organised by the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), Goa State Branch, highlighting its role in promoting adventure, environmental awareness and national integration among young people.
The expedition will run until August 10, 2026, bringing together participants from across the country to explore Goa’s scenic trekking trails, the biodiversity-rich Western Ghats and the state’s picturesque hinterlands.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rane said such initiatives encourage youngsters to connect with nature, embrace responsible eco-tourism and build lasting friendships beyond geographical boundaries.
“Beyond exploring Goa’s breathtaking trails, the participants will also discover the rich biodiversity hotspot that the Western Ghats are known for, and the hinterlands that make our state truly unique,” she said.
The inaugural programme was attended by Sidharth Kuncalienker, President of the Youth Hostels Association of India, Goa State Branch, the Additional Collector (North), Deputy Collector of Sattari, Mamlatdar of Sattari, RFO Girish, ZP Member Nilesh Parwar, Sarpanch Vinayak Gawas, and panch members of the Thane Village Panchayat.
Dr Rane wished all the participants a safe, enriching and memorable trekking experience amidst Goa’s pristine natural landscapes.
