DELHI: Demonstrating Goa’s commitment to building a robust technology and innovation ecosystem, a high-level delegation from the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, participated in the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, from October 7 to 10. Organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the four-day technology congress was themed ‘Scale Without Boundaries’ and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The delegation was led by Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Minister Rohan Khaunte, accompanied by Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, Secretary (IT); Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C; Neville Noronha, OSD to the Minister for IT; Gaurabh Sawal, Deputy Director (IT); and Sharda Katare, Head, State e-Governance Mission Team (SeMT), NeGD.
During the event, Khaunte held strategic meetings with central dignitaries, state ministers and technology leaders to explore collaborative opportunities, scale digital infrastructure and discuss policy frameworks to accelerate Goa’s technology sector.
As part of the exhibition, five startups from Goa showcased their technological solutions to investors, policymakers and technology enthusiasts. The participating startups were Planmypaisa, Treleva Technologies, Phosic India Private Limited, Contractzy and Kverty. During his visit, the minister interacted with the participating startups and learned about their innovations and growth ambitions.
Expressing pride in Goa’s emerging startup ecosystem, Khaunte said, “Seeing our Goan startups showcase their AI and deep-tech solutions on a national stage like the India Mobile Congress fills us with immense pride. Goa has become a launchpad for world-class tech innovation and we remain committed to backing our young entrepreneurs every step of the way as they build solutions that serve not just India, but global markets.”
Highlighting the opportunities IMC offers to regional startups, Gautami Raiker, CEO and founder of Contractzy, said the event provided a valuable platform to connect with technology leaders, enterprises, investors and fellow innovators while gaining insights into evolving market requirements.
“Being part of IMC has been a great experience for us. It is a fantastic opportunity to network with technology leaders, enterprises, investors and other innovators, while understanding the evolving needs of the market. The conversations and connections we are making here are helping us explore new partnerships and opportunities for growth. For Contractzy, this platform is more than just an opportunity to present our product, it is an opportunity to represent the innovation coming from Goa and demonstrate that startups from the region can build technology solutions with the potential to serve businesses across India and global markets,” Raiker said.
Mexson Fernandes, founder of Kverty, highlighted the company’s focus on secure, on-premise artificial intelligence solutions designed for sectors where data protection is critical.
“We are presenting our on-premise AI solutions — encompassing voice agents, telephony services and custom knowledge bases. We specifically cater to the hospitality and healthcare sectors, where data security is critical and businesses need to maintain complete control over their own data,” Fernandes said.
Reflecting on the experience, he added that the event had helped the company connect with like-minded startups, understand market needs and identify opportunities to differentiate its offerings.
“For us, this opportunity means moving beyond just validating our product to actually scaling our vision, proving that Goa is no longer just a tourist destination, but a serious launchpad for global tech innovation,” he said.
Participation in national platforms such as IMC 2026 underscores DITE&C’s efforts to promote Goa as a destination for emerging technologies, digital governance and entrepreneurship. By providing Goan startups with opportunities to engage with investors, industry leaders and policymakers, the state aims to strengthen its innovation ecosystem and expand the reach of homegrown technology solutions.
The participation also reflects Goa’s broader ambition to diversify its economic landscape and establish itself as a growing technology and innovation hub alongside its established identity as a leading tourist destination.
