PANAJI: Goa Tourism has successfully concluded its dynamic participation at the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) 2025, held from May 4 to 6 in Jaipur. The event underscored Goa’s continued dedication to sustainable and regenerative tourism that supports local communities and safeguards the state’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
The Goa delegation was led by Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary (Tourism), and included Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism; Gavin Dias, GM (Marketing), GTDC; Rajesh Kale, Deputy Director (South), along with a host of Goan co-exhibitors. Together, they actively engaged with national and international industry stakeholders at the Goa Tourism Pavilion.
The pavilion provided visitors with an immersive experience into Goa’s evolving tourism narrative, showcasing hinterland exploration, heritage and spiritual tourism, wellness retreats, adventure offerings, and grassroots community initiatives. With a strong focus on Regenerative Tourism, the exhibit promoted travel experiences that emphasize long-term value for both visitors and local residents.
Commenting on the event, Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, stated,
“Goa’s presence at GITB 2025 reflects our shift toward a tourism model that is sustainable, community-driven, and future-focused. We’re redefining Goa beyond the beach, highlighting local experiences and ecological responsibility. Platforms like GITB are crucial for connecting with like-minded partners aligned with our vision.”
Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, added,
“GITB 2025 served as an important platform for promoting Goa’s diverse and responsible tourism offerings. We thank our co-exhibitors and partners for their participation and look forward to translating these engagements into meaningful collaborations.”
Goa Tourism’s efforts were further recognized as it was awarded 1st Runner-Up for Best Stall in the Public Sector category, acknowledging the pavilion’s engaging presentation and strong industry presence.
Among the event’s distinguished visitors were Smt. Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha; Suman Billa, Additional Secretary & Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India; and Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Past President of FICCI and CMD of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group. These dignitaries lauded Goa’s progressive approach to promoting tourism rooted in cultural identity and environmental consciousness.
During the three-day event, the Goa Tourism team conducted several B2B meetings, explored strategic partnerships, and shared insights into its tourism roadmap, which emphasizes cultural preservation, local empowerment, and ecological sustainability.
As GITB 2025 concludes, Goa Tourism extends its gratitude to all visitors, stakeholders, and co-exhibitors, and looks forward to nurturing the collaborations and conversations sparked during the event.
